Family, I had the pleasure of interviewing brand new artist, Josephine, on the eve of her new single release, "I Like You." This great song comes out today but in the interim check out the video below and learn more about this amazing young talent.
Josephine is a native of Curacao who was raised in a small town in Holland by Dutch missionaries. This European / island girl is anything but ordinary. Josephine began singing at the age of 5 like many, in church, where she was raised to be a bright light in the world. She honed her skills professionally after returning to her homeland, Curacao, at the age of 21. This young talent began her journey with several local island musicians and formed the power duo "JnA" with her friend and colleague, Angela Vergouwen. Together they were finalists on the Dutch TV show "The Winner Is," toured across the Caribbean and became regular guests on several Caribbean radio stations: Dolphin FM and Paradise FM.
Currently Josephine is living in America pursuing her solo career alongside the six-time Grammy cited producer/songwriter Philip Lassiter. Philip is acclaimed for his work with: Prince, Liv Warfield, Kirk Franklin, Kelly Rowland, Jill Scott, and many other Grammy Award winning artists. Her first single/video, "I Like You," is a fusion of pop & electronic dance with elements of 70's soul. On stage, Josephine’s electric energy is nothing short of hypnotic, as her magnetic personality and sultry voice will leave you begging for more.
Inspired at a young age, music has always been a driving force in my life. Having been exposed to many genres and events centered around music, I wanted this series to bring the human aspect of the artist to the music that we love.
